2010 Peace Song
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
By eliminating the focus of fitting a song to a genre such as country, rock, rap, hip hop and pop etc, the PEACE SONG songwriting competition aims to move towards a greater inclusiveness of cultural diversity and to encourage the freedom of expression of songwriters.
ENTRY SUBMISSIONS PARTNERSHIPS
The NZ Online Songwriting Competition has partnered with USA based www.sonicbids.com as the primary partner for worldwide entry submissions. We also work with www.starnow.co.nz and www.musicxray.com to make the competition accessible worldwide.
PEER NETWORKS
This online competition utilises the ‘widget’ and html tools of www.reverbnation.com to support entrants with the online tools to share their song entries with friends, family and online peer networks. Importantly, we actively promote the songs of the entrants within the most popular social and media content networks such as MYSPACE, FACEBOOK, REVERBNATION, YOUTUBE and BEBO.
ONLY US$10.00 PER SONG ENTRY
At only US$10.00 per song entry the competition is focused on being affordable for songwriters from all walks of life. After all, music is not the gift of the chosen few, it belongs to everyone!
FIND THE INSPIRATION
Songwriters of all ages, races and musical taste anywhere in the world online, are encouraged to write new songs inspired by 30 human rights videos. These have been made available by ‘Youth For Human Rights’ with the sole purpose of spreading the awareness of human rights as widely as possible. We encourage you to visit the video page on this site and utilise the videos as inspiration for your song.
“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith
in their mission can alter the course of history.”
“In this life we cannot do great things.
We can only do small things with great love.”
“If you cannot do great things,
do small things in a great way.”
“Big jobs usually go to the men who prove
their ability to outgrow small ones.”
“All difficult things have their origin in that which is easy,
and great things in that which is small.”
”Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small.
A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
